Accountabilities

In this role, you will manage bookkeeping responsibilities for a portfolio of small business clients while providing exceptional customer service and financial support through cloud accounting tools and virtual collaboration.

  • Serve as a trusted accounting advisor for small business clients within your assigned portfolio.
  • Manage bookkeeping activities including transaction categorization, reconciliations, monthly close processes, and financial statement preparation.
  • Use cloud-based accounting software to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Conduct recurring virtual meetings with clients to review bookkeeping results and discuss financial performance.
  • Communicate accounting concepts clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Identify and flag potential bookkeeping issues while proactively supporting client needs.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal team members by sharing knowledge, best practices, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to individual and team revenue targets through efficient account management and client satisfaction.

Requirements This role requires a strong customer-focused mindset, foundational accounting knowledge, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related customer service environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud accounting platforms and digital bookkeeping processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts in simple terms.
  • Customer-centric mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with small business clients is considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
