Accounting Co-op

Fall 2026 Term (4or 8 Month Term)

University/College

OVERVIEW

This role works closely with the Assistant Controller and other departments to contribute to the company’s financial objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a family-owned business environment.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Assist with completing month-end procedures and reconciliations for inventory, deferred revenue, accruals, overhead, etc. together with the existing team in a very efficient and timely manner.
  • Assist with reviewing financial results of individual companies monthly.
  • Analyzes development projects from a financial perspective along with the Assistant Controller.
  • Analyzes specific job results by revenue type, (e.g., overall margins on large supply jobs), ensuring we reach our target margins.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Assists the VP of Finance with year-end financial reports where required.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
  • Other duties are requested by management.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with other departments and team members.
