As a Finance & Accounting Co-op Student, you will be an integral part of a collaborative Finance team focused on delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial support to our programs and services. Term: May to December
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare journal entries and assist with account reconciliations
- Help maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
- Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
- Compile financial data and generate reports for internal stakeholders
- Maintain organized financial records in accordance with policies and procedures
- Provide administrative and project support to the Finance team
What we’re looking for:
- Enrolment in full-time post-secondary studies in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (with a focus in Accounting/Finance)
- Strong interest in financial reporting, accounting principles, and data analysis
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts (debits/credits, reconciliations, financial statements)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis skills considered an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems is considered an asset
