Job description:
Dionamix Scientific, a life sciences instrumentation company headquarters in Richmond BC Canada, designs and manufactures high tech instrumentation used in the analytical and life sciences industries. Dionamix is looking for an Application Engineer (Junior) for lipid nanoparticles and chromatography working with our application scientist and chemist.
The advent of Covid created an explosive demand for Lipid Nano Particle (LNP) based research and development of therapeutics for cancer and other common diseases. This has created an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who can create and execute a narrative that establishes Dionamix as a leading solution in this nascent segment.
Dionamix LNP solution is of a joint project with Pharmaceutical Department of UBC, and a joint business program with a group world top and well-known LNP leading scientists from UBC. This role will also have the opportunity to work together with UBC researchers on the cutting-edge LNP solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop scientific white papers and application notes related to LNP formulation, chromatography, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry.
· Create technical white papers and application content for the NanoStation platforms.
· Demonstrate Dionamix technologies to customers, including NanoStation platforms, HPLC systems, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, autosamplers and detectors.
· Develop and deliver webinar/seminar content; serve as host and/or technical speaker
· Provide pre- and post-sales application support for customers, including NanoStation platforms, HPLC, and UV-Vis spectrophotometer method support
. Train customers on instrument operation and translate their workflow needs into practical solutions
· Plan and perform experiments under the guidance of senior application scientist and chemist; analyze data, document results, and summarize conclusions for internal and external use.
Skills and experience:
· Knowledge and hands-on experience with microfluidics, lipid nanoparticles and formulation workflows.
· Experience with HPLC with understanding of method development, optimization and support for complex applications.
· Bachelor’s degree in Nanotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related life-science discipline.
· Proven experience in application implementation and troubleshooting, with the ability to diagnose issues and purpose practical solutions.
· Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Confidence to work independently and as part of a team.
· Fast learner who is comfortable adopting new technologies, workflows, and software tools.
· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
· Willingness to travel as needed to support customers, demonstrations, or installations.
· Industry Experience in LNP solution will be a plus
Package:
Salary: From C$45,000.00 to C$55,000 per year
Additional pay: Commission pay
