Full Description
Position: Bookkeeper Intern β Paid Internship
Department: Foundation
Reporting to the Gift Shop Convenor, the Intern will conduct bookkeeping transactions for Gift Shop and other fundraising initiatives. Working with the Friends of NBRHC volunteers' fundraising committee of North Bay Regional Health Centre, the intern will assist in coordinating the Vendor Program and the Nevada ticket sales. Specific key duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Process accounts payable and receivable using QuickBooks.
- Create, analyze and interpret business financial statements.
- Use various computer software to export and analyze data as well as produce graphs and summary reports.
- Prepare agendas and minutes for various meetings.
- Orient, train, and support new volunteers performing fundraising activities.
- Schedule and lead special events and promotions to generate revenue.
- Other duties that contribute to the success of the operation of the Gift Shop
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Experience/Knowledge:
- University or College graduate who has graduated within the last three (3) years from an accredited college or university. Preference will be given to candidate with education in related fields of Accounting or Business Administration. A keen interest in the pursuing further knowledge in the financial or business field.
- The position will be a first full-time employment in the candidateβs field of study.
- The intern must also not have previously participated in a NOHFC internship program.
Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and highly developed organizational skills.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to use various software such as Excel, Microsoft Suite, QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
