Full Description

One of our Member Firms, Guide Engineering, is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our growing team in Chilliwack, BC. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers on the design, planning, and execution of land development and municipal infrastructure projects across the Lower Mainland. Key Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of Engineer of Record:

  • Support senior engineers in the design and planning of civil engineering projects, including site investigations, data analysis, and reporting;
  • Prepare technical drawings, design calculations, and project specifications;
  • Assist with stormwater management plans, site grading design, and water and sanitary servicing analysis;
  • Conduct site inspections, surveys, and other field work as required;
  • Contribute to project scheduling, cost tracking, and coordination with contractors and consultants;
  • Ensure all work complies with municipal bylaws, provincial regulations, and the BC Building Code; and
  • Participate in proposal preparation, client meetings, and other business development activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline;
  • Registered as an EIT or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC;
  • 2–3 years of relevant civil design and field experience preferred—especially in land development within the Lower Mainland.  Note: Recent graduates from civil engineering disciplines will also be considered;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with PCSWMM, EPA NET, or other civil design tools is an asset;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective time management abilities;
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments; and
  • Valid BC driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Salary Range: Range between $70,000 to $100,000
