Position: Co-op/Student Project Coordinator
Job Type: On Site, Full Time, Fixed Term Contract
Contract Length: 4 - 8 months, Starting May 2026
Location: Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta

SB Canada is currently seeking a Co-op/Student
Project Coordinator
to join our organization. The Co-op/Student Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting our Project team(s) with construction activities such as planning, organizing, change management including RFI’s and change orders, and keeping records of the various types of work SB Canada executes. This position will be primarily site-based, with your main hub (office to which you report) to be located either in Calgary, or Edmonton, Alberta.
The key responsibilities of this position are:
- This position reports to the Project Manager responsible for the projects to which you will be assigned.
- Be an active participant and key stakeholder in SB Canada’s Health and Safety Program; helping to contribute to a positive safety culture as we move from compliance to care;
- Coordination and frequent communication with SB Canada’s on-site supervision (Superintendents, and Forepersons)
- Work with other dynamic team members, from engineering and design, to estimation and bidding through to project execution and final project closeout, including successful construction, profitability, and client satisfaction with SB Canada’s performance;
- Review and interpretation of geotechnical information, project drawings, and specifications related to the project
- Preparing the job site and liaising with other construction professionals (Clients and other project stakeholders) such as estimators, consulting engineers, and surveyors before construction work starts;
- Assist with preparation of project budgets and schedules and ensuring the project is completed within budget and on schedule;
- Assist with preparation of project submittals, procurement, quality control work packages and turnover packages;
- Review the project plans and specifications and commenting on the design, schedule, possible cost savings measures, and potential construction problems;
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly labour, equipment, material and subtrade costs for tracking/documenting and monthly Invoicing
- Monitor the activities of subcontractors, subconsultants, and suppliers on projects;
- Progress Tracking/Reporting
- Ensure the timely mobilization of the proper equipment, tooling, and staff to project site as well as the timely delivery of materials by vendors;
- Interface with clients as required;
- Assisting and cooperating with the HSE team to ensure regulations relating to health, safety and the environment are adhered to.

Qualifications:
- Enrolled in and/or currently pursuing an engineering degree or technologist certificate/diploma in the field of civil engineering/construction management (Both Co-op and traditional program students are encouraged to apply)
- Interest or courses related to construction management, geotechnical and structural engineering aspects of deep foundation techniques would be an asset;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
- Self‑motivated, energetic, and reliable, with a consistently positive attitude;
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to work well in a team environment;
- Proficient in project management software and tools;
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;

Pay Range: $23.00-26.00/hr
Employee is required to provide their own transportation to/from the job-site (for local projects)
Transportation, accommodations, and meals will be compensated when working out of town (away from your office hub location)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10-hour shift (when on site), 8-hour shift (when in office)
