Job Description 12-month contract starting in May 2026 Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Organizational Effectiveness Team is seeking a Co-op Student, HR Analytics to support data analysis, reporting automation, and continuous improvement initiatives within HR Analytics. This role will report to the Senior Manager, HR Analytics & Reporting.
What will I be doing?
- Supported the HR Analytics team in developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel to provide actionable workforce insights.
- Assisted in data cleansing, validation, and transformation to improve the accuracy and integrity of HR datasets (e.g., headcount, vacancies, turnover).
- Collaborated with cross-functional stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into clear data visualizations.
- Conducted data analysis to identify trends in workforce metrics and supported leadership decision-making with evidence-based insights.
- Contributed to the automation of recurring reports to improve reporting efficiency and reduce manual processing time.
- Ensured data governance and privacy standards were upheld when handling confidential employee information.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Must be attending school full-time and returning to an academic institution
- Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment
- Enrolled in Business Administration, Engineering, Econometrics, Accounting - Statistics or similar program at a post-secondary institution
- Preference will be given to students who can commence work in May 2026
- Competence in software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
- Skilled in creating data visualizations using Excel and Power BI to present insights clearly.
- Customer service experience is an asset
- Experience in research, data input and analysis are an asset
- Strong interest in emerging technologies and innovative automation solutions that improve efficiency and streamline processes.
