Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing Entry Level Junior Sales Representative with a mechanical or related technical background who is eager to grow, learn, and build a long-term career in sales. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with clients, understands technical products or manufacturing processes, and is willing to go above and beyond in self-development and performance.
The successful candidate will support business development efforts, maintain client relationships, pursue smaller job opportunities as they arise, assist with estimating activities, and ensure accurate tracking of all sales-related data and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Communicate confidently with customers via phone, email, and virtual/in-person meetings
- Identify opportunities to quote and sell small-to-mid-sized jobs
- Assist senior sales team members with quotations, follow-ups, and customer support
- Provide quick and accurate support in estimating projects, including gathering required information, reviewing drawings, and preparing preliminary data for pricing
- Support front office operations as needed, ensuring professionalism and responsiveness in client interactions
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and mechanical requirements (training provided as needed)
- Proactively follow up on leads and outstanding quotes
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and organized records of all customer interactions, opportunities, and project updates
- Accurately input and manage sales data, customer information, and internal documentation
- Ensure all spreadsheets, reports, and tracking documents are kept clean, professional, and up to date
- Continuously improve product knowledge through independent learning and team mentorship
Qualifications
- Mechanical, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical background (education or hands-on experience)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable initiating conversations and discussing technical details with clients
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow
- Outgoing personality with a positive attitude
- Ability to understand or quickly learn technical drawings and specifications
- Fluent in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Fast and accurate at entering, organizing, and tracking information
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clean data records
- Ability to respond quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Attributes
- No Previous sales, customer service, or account management experience is required. If the drive to learn and grow is there IAT is willing to coach and train.
- Some background knowledge or Experience in manufacturing, machining, casting, fabrication, or industrial environments
- Exposure to quoting or estimating processes
- Ability to confidently “ask for the business” when opportunities arise
- Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

Pay: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
