The Opportunity

The Geology Summer Student – Core Logging position will report in to the Area Geologist. The postion is on site at the Core Shack located in Whitefish, Ontario. This position is for a period of 4 months, on a Monday to Friday work schedule (subject to change if required for operational needs). The start date for this position is May 1, 2026 with and end date of August 31, 2026.

What You’ll Do

  • Committing to a safe and healthy work environment for self, and colleagues;
  • Logging of diamond drill core. Following all QA/QC standards;
  • Handling and transferring of drill core from drill site to core facility via truck;
  • Assisting geologists and other technicians with handling of drill core within the core facility;
  • Responsible for keeping well organized log of all drill core samples;
  • Labelling of samples and core boxes and documenting un-sampled core;
  • Miscellaneous paperwork and filing;
  • Follow departmental safety program and maintain safety standards;
  • Maintaining a clean work environment;
  • Such other duties as may be assigned.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous Core Logging work would be an asset but will train.
  • Geology Student – 2nd year university/college or better preferred.
  • Ability to safely use small hand tools.
  • Basic MS Office functionality.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • First Aid training would be an asset.

What we offer

Compensation for this position is $28.70 per hour.
