Full Description
- The Help Desk Intern will support the IT department by assisting with basic technical issues and providing user support throughout the organization. This is a short-term, five-week internship designed to offer hands-on experience in IT support, with responsibilities and expectations suited for an entry-level role.
- Responsibilities
- Respond to user inquiries and provide basic troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
- Log and track support tickets using help desk software.
- Assist with password resets and account setup for new users.
- Help maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
- Support routine maintenance tasks such as software updates and system checks.
- Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology).
- Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Mac operating systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in learning about IT support and troubleshooting.
- This internship is intended to provide exposure to IT support and help desk operations, with training and guidance provided. Interns are expected to demonstrate reliability, eagerness to learn, and professionalism during their five-week tenure.
