HR Coordinator - Summer Student

Position Summary

The Summer Student – HR Coordinator position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program and provides a meaningful opportunity for a post-secondary student to gain hands-on experience in the field of Human Resources within the nonprofit sector. Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the student will contribute to the coordination and delivery of HR services that support the organization’s mission and workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities as needed, including writing job postings, scheduling interviews, preparing new hire packages, and participating in orientation sessions.
• Support HR administration by maintaining employee files, filing documents electronically, and updating HR databases and spreadsheets.
• Contribute to staff engagement initiatives such as employee recognition, training events, or wellness activities.
• Research and assist in updating HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment standards and best practices.
• Provide general administrative and project assistance to the HR department as needed.
