Job Responsibilities POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Human Resources Co-Op Student supports the company through various Human Resources systems to meet company goals and legislative requirements. He or She will perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that upholds and reflects the Magna’s Employee Charter.

Duration: 4 Month Co-op

Salary Range: $19/hr - $23/hr

Qualifications Required

  • Working towards Post-secondary education in Business Administration preferably a focus in Human Resources Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess exceptional organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong MS Office skill
  • Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime, shifts, etc.

Responsibilities / Efforts / Working Conditions

  • Maintains team member personnel files
  • Assist with recruitment (job postings, scheduling interviews, etc.)
  • Coordination of internal and external training as well as maintaining training records
  • Support in the coordination of social events as required
  • Manage all Employee Communication Centers, ensuring ongoing updates and visual clarity
  • Facilitate job posting policy
  • Monitoring of performance appraisal procedures
  • Deals with team member concerns with respect to job security, fair treatment, safe and healthy Workplace, fair wages and benefits, equity participation and communication of information
  • Acts as a resource/consultant to Department Managers/Supervisors/Teamleaders with regards to policies, legislation, principles of the Employee Charter, etc.
  • Assists in the planning of key programs and activities, ie manpower, layoffs, etc.
