Job Title: Human Resources Intern (Co-op)
Location: Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON
Property: Corporate Office
Wage: $21.63

This posting is for a new vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment
  • Preparing, distributing, tracking and coordinating all internal job postings/vacancies
  • Posting position vacancies on Internet recruiting sites
  • Coordinating and participating in internal and external career fairs
  • Coordinating and participating in all aspects of on-campus recruitment
  • Pre-screening candidates, greeting walk-ins, introducing company information and addressing telephone inquiries
  • Reviewing, tracking, logging, filing and distributing resumes and response letters such as regret letters
  • Interviewing and profiling applicants
  • Scheduling and coordinating interviews with Department Managers and follows-up
  • Preparing offers of employment and new hire packages
  • Enrolls new Team Members in the Company onboarding training modules; monitors their completion progress and provides updates to the hiring Manager
  • Training
  • Monitors and follows up with Department Managers for outstanding new hire training documentation
  • Coordinates and co-facilitate weekly Orientation & Service First Training
  • Health & Safety
  • Attends JHSC meetings
  • Assist with accident/injury WSIB claims
  • Monitors the Safety Talk program for LHPL
  • Review and update Health & Safety Bulletin Boards to ensure compliance with regulations and legislation requirements.
  • Social Events
  • Assists in coordinating Lais Hotel Properties Limited Social Event
  • Coordinates and co-edits the Lais Hotel Properties Limited Team Member Newsletter;
  • Employee Engagement
  • Responsible for coordinating and posting on the LHPL Careers Social Media platforms
  • Conduct Stay Interviews to gather feedback on our Team Members work experience

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Tracks HR Driven programs (Educational Assistance, Refer a Friend, etc.);
  • Receive, record, circulate and file Progressive Corrective Action forms;
  • Sends out notification of probationary performance evaluations and tracks their return;
  • Enters all requisitions for the HR department into the ADACO system;
  • Greets walk-ins and addresses telephone inquiries
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the regulations
  • Assists the department with administrative work as required;
  • All other duties as assigned

Technical/Managerial/Administrative Requirements:

  • Possesses good computer skills
  • Experience in computerized payroll and or HRIS system an asset

Professional Requirements:

  • College Degree, Certificate in Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) is an asset
