Fabrene Inc. is a leader in the manufacturing of woven Polyolefin materials for a wide variety of building, protective, and packaging products. The plant located at 240 Dupont Road in North Bay, ON operates 24/7 and involves a variety of extrusion, plastic and textile processing equipment.
OVERVIEW:
- Summer HR Co-Op Placement (12 to 16 weeks)
- Start Date: Monday, May 4th, 2026
- Monday to Friday - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Rate: $20.09/hour
Responsibilities:
The HR Summer Co-Op Student position provides a meaningful opportunity for a post-secondary student to gain hands-on experience in the field of Human Resources in a unionized environment, by contributing to the coordination and delivery of HR services that support the organization’s workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as an active member of the HR team by providing administrative support and assisting team members to maintain a collaborative and productive work environment;
- Exercise discretion and professional integrity in all matters involving confidential or sensitive information;
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities as needed, including writing job postings, assisting with interviews, preparing new hire packages, and participating in orientation sessions;
- Support HR administration by maintaining employee files, HR databases and spreadsheets;
- Assist in updating HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment standards and best practices, as required;
- Contribute to staff engagement initiatives and activities as required;
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience
- Enrolled in a post-secondary education program in Business, Human Resources, or equivalent where a work placement is part of study plan;
- Courses in human resources or organizational behaviour preferred but not required;
- Passion for organization and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
