Role Description

This is an Associate role at EQ Capital Partners for new graduates or professionals with 1-2 years of experience in finance or investment banking. The Associate will be responsible for leading financial modeling and valuation work, preparing marketing materials including Confidential Information Memorandums and teasers, managing due diligence processes, and supporting deal execution from origination through closing. The Associate will also support internal research initiatives, including evaluating and benchmarking analytical tools, reviewing financial outputs for accuracy, and contributing to the development of internal processes and frameworks. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in our downtown Toronto head office, with flexibility for remote work on remaining days.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field

1-2 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A advisory, or related fields

Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions)

Experience preparing marketing materials such as CIMs, teasers, and pitch books

Familiarity with due diligence processes and deal execution

Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize effectively

Strong client-facing communication skills

Comfort working with new technologies and analytical platforms

Ability to do cold outreach, calls, and follow up with prospects and clients

CFA, CBV, or relevant designation in progress is a plus

Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus
