Position Overview
The Junior Accountant is responsible for preparing and issuing sales invoices, managing finance-related inquiries, and maintaining up-to-date procedural documentation. This role works both collaboratively with the Finance team and independently, ensuring clear and timely communication with franchise partners and students worldwide. Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are essential to support smooth financial operations across international locations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for UK training center sales inquiries, as well as vendors, suppliers, and franchise partners worldwide.
- Prepare, issue, and manage sales invoices for franchise partners and students across Canada, the U.S., the UK, and international locations.
- Code and process Accounts Payable invoices to the appropriate general ledger and sales tax accounts.
- Manage the invoice approval process and enter Accounts Payable invoices, journal entries, and intercompany transactions into Sage/NetSuite and multiple Sage company files.
- Prepare weekly payment run reports for management review and submit bank payments through National Bank and NatWest.
- Assist with bank and intercompany account reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Support Finance-related Help Desk inquiries and provide timely resolutions.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure procedural documentation is current and easy to follow.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to support financial operations and reporting.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelorβs degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- Working toward CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Ability to stay organized, keep track of deadlines and balance ongoing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and work independently.
- Proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong ability to anticipate needs and ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative.
Please note
- Education: Bachelor's (required)
- Salary: $50,000 - $65,000, compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work Location: In person, on site β Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1J8.
