Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our Head Office team in Calgary. This role is intended for a recent university graduate who is actively pursuing the CPA designation and is looking to begin their accounting career in a hands-on, supportive environment.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position will focus on core accounting functions including, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end support. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting processes and develop practical experience to support their CPA studies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, motivated, and eager to grow within a structured accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance Support

• Process accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently
• Processing credit applications from customers and assessing credit risk
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation
• Assist with data entry and maintenance within the ERP system
• Support the Assistant Controller and accounting team with ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Other office misc. tasks as assigned by the Assistant Controller

Qualifications & Skills

• Recent university graduate required with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Actively enrolled in or planning to enroll in the CPA program (CPA designation required in progress)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage repetitive and deadline-driven tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
