SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, ensure accuracy in financial records, and support month-end and year-end closing processes. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included, but not limited to):
- Perform general daily accounting functions and bookkeeping using QuickBooks. Tasks include generating the daily bank report, posting account transactions, and journal entries.
- Conduct month-end reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Assist in payroll administration for both employees and contractors, including all year-end requirements.
- Support in conducting Fiscal Year End Audits by providing necessary documentation and assistance.
- Complete various other accounting-related tasks as needed.
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and accounts receivable/payable balances.
- Recording daily revenue recognition entries in the journal.
- Manages government filings including HST, EHT, WSIB, payroll remittances, and T4 forms.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience
- Experience in quick books online
- Strong technical skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
- Excellent communicator and strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and team player
- Flexibility to assist with various tasks within the accounting environment
- Ability to self-manage and take initiative
- Bilingual English/Korean is preferred
