JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT (Review & Compilation focus)

As a Junior Accountant, you’ll play an integral role in supporting a range of client engagements while continuing to develop your technical expertise. This role places a strong emphasis on Review and Compilation work, making it ideal for someone who is comfortable with these engagements and ready to take on increasing responsibility. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll gain valuable exposure across files while strengthening your technical knowledge and client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive year-end working paper files for Compilation and Review engagements, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Support Review engagements through detailed documentation and analysis, with a strong focus on quality and consistency
  • Contribute to audit assignments by assisting with fieldwork and preparing supporting documentation
  • Complete corporate, personal, and trust tax returns with accuracy and attention to compliance
  • Communicate with clients to collect information and respond to routine inquiries throughout engagements
  • Assist managers and team members with special projects and day-to-day deliverables
  • Ensure all work aligns with firm standards, professional guidelines, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in a public accounting firm, with direct exposure to Review and Compilation engagements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Progress toward a CPA designation is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, and Canadian tax principles
  • Proficiency with CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication abilities
