Full Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing team at Vurish Corp Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and a desire to grow within a dynamic company. You will play a key role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accuracy in our day-to-day accounting tasks.

This position offers a flexible hybrid work model, allowing you to work remotely from home while also collaborating with the team in our Burnaby office (3851 Hastings St). We are open to exceptional candidates located anywhere within Canada for fully remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification and payment runs.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and filing systems.
  • Support the team with GST/PST filings and other compliance tasks.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve billing inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
  • 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships included).
  • Basic understanding of Canadian accounting principles and tax regulations (an asset).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
