Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid—Mon/Tues/Thurs in office; Wed/Fri remote)

Salary: ~$50,000/year + Benefits + 2 Weeks Paid Vacation

About the Role

WSI Ottawa is a digital marketing agency supporting clients across industries, including professional services, healthcare, home services, hospitality, and more. As our client base grows, we are hiring a Junior AI Content Editor & Creator to support our Account Management team by producing high-quality, SEO-driven content using modern AI workflows.

This is not a traditional copywriting role.

Your core responsibility will be refining, editing, proofreading, and humanizing AI-generated content . You will use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and custom GPT workflows to generate structured drafts, then elevate them into polished, credible, natural-sounding content aligned with each client’s voice and industry.

This role is ideal for someone with strong formal writing training (journalism, communications, English literature, etc.) who understands that great content today is not about writing everything from scratch—it's about intelligently directing, refining, and elevating AI output.

This is a junior position with structured mentorship, particularly in SEO and agency systems.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Assisted Content Production (Primary Focus – 90%)

• Edit and humanize AI-generated blog content
• Refine educational articles
• Produce social media posts across industries
• Edit and structure website copy (service pages, landing pages, core pages)
• Ensure content is clean, credible, natural, and properly formatted

Editorial & Quality Control

• Remove robotic or generic AI tone
• Improve clarity, structure, and logical flow
• Validate facts and eliminate inaccuracies
• Maintain consistent brand voice across industries

Research & Support

• Assist Account Managers with topic research
• Support content outline development
• Help maintain production timelines

Light AI-Assisted Visual Support (Secondary)

• Create basic social graphics or thumbnails using AI tools
• Support simple content visuals when needed

What Success Looks Like

Within 90 days:

• Content backlog significantly reduced
• Faster turnaround times across accounts
• AI-generated drafts consistently elevated to a professional standard
• Account Managers regain meaningful time for strategy and client growth

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

• English as a first language
• Exceptional grammar, editing, and proofreading ability
• Degree (completed or in progress) in:
• Journalism
• Communications
• English Literature
• Media Studies
• or related field
• Comfortable working daily with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.)
• Foundational understanding of AI prompt frameworks and structured prompting techniques
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage high output without sacrificing quality

Preferred

• Basic understanding of SEO writing principles
• Experience writing across multiple industries
• Familiarity with AI image tools or Canva
• Agency internship or writing experience (nice to have, not required)
