Compensation Details

  • Bus. Intel. & Analytics 17: Salaries typically range from $84,698 to $112,931 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview Within the Enterprise Analytics & Forecasting group, the Risk and Sustainability (R&S) Analytics team supports analytics and reporting needs for Global Risk Management, Sustainable Finance, Special Operations, ESG, and other service lines.

The team ensures data requirements are elicited and documented, identifies the best possible data sources, and recommends solutions when gaps or challenges arise. It also leads numerous projects in the risk and portfolio data space.

As an Analyst, you’ll play an integral role in supporting projects that influence EDC’s risk management and sustainability strategies.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics needs, translate business questions into clear data requirements, and identify gaps or challenges in available data sources.
  • Data Exploration & Solution Design: Assist in evaluating data sources and recommending approaches to ensure robust, reliable analytics solutions. Support the design and development of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that make complex data easy to interpret.
  • Project Support & Implementation: Contribute to project planning, timelines, and documentation. Help implement solutions that address key data and reporting needs, ensuring alignment with governance and compliance standards.
  • Governance & Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate documentation of processes and ensure adherence to EDC’s data governance practices. Participate in audits and compliance reviews as needed.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to deliver consistent, high-quality outputs. Present findings and updates to team members and occasionally to stakeholders in a clear, professional manner.

This role offers exposure to risk analytics, ESG data, and financial products, providing a strong foundation for future growth in data and risk management.

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in data analytics, risk analytics, or related areas (internships or co-op experience welcome).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI and data visualization tools is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in financial products data and/or ESG data.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Bilingual (English & French).
  • Experience with Denodo, MS Fabric, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.
