We are currently seeking applications for a Junior Biologist to work from our Kelowna office, where we offer

Your role will involve:

• Preparing technical reports such as environmental assessments and developing strategies to mitigate potential impacts to the environment

• Interacting and engaging with clients

• Collecting environmental data in terrestrial and freshwater settings

• Championing health and safety requirements

• Writing environmental management and protection plans and environmental effects assessments

• Collaborating with industry, government, and First Nations to achieve beneficial environmental outcomes

• Contributing to proposals and business development activities

Think you have what it takes to be part of the Ecoscape team? Please make sure you have at least a few of the following skills:

• Working knowledge of fish, wildlife and ecosystems of the southern interior of BC, with preference given to those with a background in aquatic sciences • Some understanding of environmental permitting and associated environmental construction monitoring of small or large infrastructure projects

• Knowledge or experience with engineering and construction practices

• Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent time management (examples may be requested)

• Highly motivated to self-train, improve your skillsets and quickly/effectively take on greater responsibility

• Preference given to those with some consulting or similar experience or who are eligible for grant programs like ECO Canada

• Candidates must possess or be eligible for a professional designation with the College of Applied Biology or the British Columbia Institute of Agrology

• Additional certifications such as backpack electrofishing, Riparian Areas Protection Regulation, Environmental Monitoring, Erosion and Sediment Control, Swift Water Rescue Technician, Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) and/or Marine Emergency Duty (MEDA3)

• A strong aptitude for working outdoors in challenging environments is an asset

Compensation:

Salary: $58,000 - $68,000 dependent on applicant’s education, knowledge, skills, and experience.
