Full Description
Company
Mako is a leading fintech firm, building software to bring top wealth managers and their clients into the cloud. Our SaaS platform allows firms to onboard new clients, interact with their existing clients and simplify costly back-office procedures with smart automation and great user experience.
As we continue our rapid client growth, we’re now seeking a dynamic professional to engage with our newest clients and play a crucial role in uncovering and documenting technical requirements. This is an entry-level business analyst position, where you'll gain experience in business process reviews, assessing stakeholder needs, Agile project management, and more. If you are hungry for challenges and continuously evolving responsibilities, this is a great position for you!
About this position
Reporting to the Chief Solutions Officer, the Junior Business Analyst is the bridge between the initial sales proposal and a successful project kick-off. You will play a critical role in the "Pre-Implementation" phase, ensuring that the high-level promises made during the sales cycle are translated into granular, executable technical requirements.
Your primary mission is to facilitate Business Process Reviews (BPRs) to uncover the "how" behind the client's needs. You will spend your time identifying gaps, drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), and ensuring our Solutions Engineering and Product teams have a solid understanding of our Client needs before they write a single line of code.
To set you up for success in this technical environment, Mako provides an immersive three-month training program as a Solutions Engineer. This foundational period is designed to ensure you gain a comprehensive understanding of the Mako product architecture and our specialized implementation processes, providing you with the technical authority needed to lead client engagements effectively.
- Supporting (and eventually leading) Business Process Reviews (BPRs) with clients to map their current workflows ("As-Is") against Mako’s platform capabilities ("To-Be").
- Acting as the bridge between Sales/Proposal and the Implementation phase to ensure no requirements are lost in transition
- Assessing, researching, analyzing and documenting sponsor/stakeholder needs
- Translate client business needs into clear, technical requirements that the Solutions Engineering and Product teams can execute without ambiguity
- Identify and document where client needs differ from standard product capabilities, proposing creative workarounds or identifying items for custom development
- Building relationships and supporting client discussions by taking meticulous notes, tracking action items, and ensuring no detail is lost in transition
- Developing process maps, data flow diagrams, and requirement traceability matrices that serve as the “Source of Truth” for the project team
- Drafting Statements of Work (SOW): Owning the initial drafting and refinement of SOWs. You will ensure that every functional requirement, integration point, and project milestone is documented for completeness ahead of the formal project kick-off.
- Collaborate with Solutions Engineers, product, and engineers to validate requirements, estimate effort, and confirm technical viability
