Position Overview

The Junior Business Analyst plays a critical supporting role in optimizing operations across Micco’s Warehousing & Logistics division. This role is ideal for a technically minded individual with early‑career experience in industrial engineering, supply chain operations, or logistics who enjoys blending systems, data, and frontline process understanding.

Junior Business Analyst receives daily operational guidance from the Director of Warehousing & Logistics, while also being coached and supported by the Business Analyst to ensure analytical, technical, and continuous improvement alignment.

This role focuses on system configuration and testing, process design, facility layout and routing optimization, data analysis, and supporting major warehousing projects and implementations.

Key Responsibilities

Systems, Software, & Data

  • Configure, test, and validate enterprise warehousing and logistics software (WMS, routing tools, scanning systems, ERP modules).
  • Support system upgrades, troubleshooting, and new feature rollout.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports (Power BI, Excel).
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and alignment with operational KPIs.

Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Document current operational processes and develop optimized future-state workflows.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis, workflow mapping, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Conduct time studies and capacity assessments on warehouse processes.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities in receiving, putaway, picking, loading, shipping, and inventory control.

Facility, Layout, & Routing Optimization

  • Assist with warehouse layout design, storage zoning, slotting strategies, and material flow improvements.
  • Support routing and logistics optimization initiatives (vehicle routing, delivery schedules, zone covers).
  • Contribute to modelling of workforce, throughput, and capacity needs.

Project & Implementation Support

  • Participate in cross-functional project teams supporting warehousing and logistics initiatives.
  • Assist in planning, executing, and tracking implementations (new facilities, new equipment, expansion projects).
  • Manage sub-projects or assigned work streams to ensure timely completion.
  • Prepare documentation, SOPs, training materials, and change-management communications.

Frontline Alignment & Stakeholder Partnerships

  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors, leads, and frontline staff to understand operational realities.
  • Conduct floor walks to validate system outputs against physical processes.
  • Assist with training staff on new processes, tools, and systems.
  • Support communication between Warehousing & Logistics and Corporate Services/Continuous Improvement.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.

Experience

  • 1–3 years in warehousing, logistics, industrial engineering, or operations.
  • Exposure to facility layout, workflow optimization, or routing considered an asset.
  • Experience in continuous improvement, project coordination, or frontline operational settings is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise or warehouse systems (WMS, ERP, routing tools) considered a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or related tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret data, perform basic analytics, and translate findings into action.
  • Comfort with process mapping tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, operational environments.
  • Proactive and eager to learn from senior operational and analytical leaders.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Regular on-site presence required; occasional visits to other warehouse/logistics facilities
