About the position
We are looking for an ambitious, creative and enthusiastic Junior Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. As a Buyer you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of products, as well as support our growth into new markets. The ideal candidate will be passionate about planning inventory, sourcing products and to optimize supply to meet customer requirements. This position is responsible for leading supplier relationship development, including monitoring performance versus expectations.
As the Purchaser you will:
- Develop and improve sourcing and material control strategies and processes according to best practices and overall procurement strategies
- Source products and negotiate with suppliers for the best prices, delivery times, and payment terms
- Create and follow through on purchase orders and production requirements from start to finish by following up after orders are placed and having clear confirmations from suppliers and logistics for deliveries
- Work closely with logistics to coordinate shipments
- Qualify and audit suppliers to ensure quality and compliance with rigorous safety standards
- Develop and become the expert in the assigned product categories, including staying current with market trends and competitive intelligence
- Build highly collaborative and resilient relationships across all business functions
- Build supplier relationship programs to ensure performance and service expectations are met
- Manage inventory turns within a product portfolio to meet and exceed targets
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and log non-conformance and work together to identify root cause and corrective action
- Work with finance to set up best possible supplier payment terms and assist in
- Reporting and analytics
- Work closely with Finance to ensure paperwork is collected and orders are received and invoiced
- Work through email communication both internally with all teams and externally with suppliers and service providers
- Work with Sales to help facilitate new business activities
- Act as back-up for other Purchasers, when required
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in a similar role
- SCMP, PMAC or CPP designation preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or diploma in Supply Chain Management
- Highly organized with strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
- Self-motivated and able to work and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- Innovative, strategic and service-focused approach
- Advanced skills in MS Office, ERP/MRP software
JOB TYPE:
• Full time, Permanent

- Monday - Friday
- 8-hour shift (9 hours onsite, including 1-hour unpaid meal break)
