Job Description:

This is a hybrid early-career engineering role based in Ottawa, Ontario , reporting to the Director of Plasma Development and supported by external electrical consultants. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, integration, and testing of electrical and control systems in a plasma research and development environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work on developing high-voltage equipment
  • Selection and procurement of DC power supplies and protective electronics
  • Instrumentation selection, sourcing, integration, and operational testing for high-voltage plasma systems
  • Develop and test an in-house DC power supply system
  • Assist in plasma torch operation and test diagnostics
  • Conduct electronics failure analysis and interface with suppliers to support technical solutions
  • Support integration of instrumentation and control systems
  • Travel to client facilities (occasional)
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Position Details:

  • Hybrid work model (remote and on-site as required)
  • Includes approximately 10% travel to client facilities
  • Based in the National Capital Region (Ottawa)
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation
  • Must hold a valid passport and be able to travel internationally (subject to project requirements)

Required Qualifications:

  • 0–3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline from an accredited post-secondary Canadian institution
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada and meet Ontario employment regulations
  • Fluent in English; additional fluency in other languages is considered an asset

Compensation:

In accordance with Ontario employment transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position is $60,000-75,000 per year.
