Connect Tech is looking for a hands-on, motivated new graduate to join our Engineering team as a Junior Hardware Designer . This role is ideal for candidates who have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering from a recognized Canadian university or 4-year degree program and have gained practical experience through co-op placements in electronics engineering.

Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all stages of product development, including research, design, implementation, verification, and testing
- Assist in schematic capture and support PCB layout for multi-layer designs
- Perform hands-on bring-up, debugging, and testing of PCB assemblies (PCBAs)
- Support component selection, sourcing, and documentation including bill of materials (BOM) creation
- Work with senior engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to support prototype builds and production readiness
- Contribute to design reviews, testing procedures, and technical documentation
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering from a Canadian university or accredited 4-year program (recent graduate)
- Completion of at least two co-op terms in electronics or hardware engineering roles
- Proven hands-on experience working with PCBAs, including assembly, bring-up, testing, or debugging
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers
- Foundational understanding of analog and digital circuit design
- Exposure to schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer or similar)
Additional Nice To Haves (Preferences)
- Exposure to high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, or similar
- Familiarity with embedded systems or processor-based designs (ARM, x86, or similar)
- Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, or multi-layer PCB design concepts
- Experience with common communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
- Exposure to FPGA or Computer-on-Module platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, COM Express, SMARC)
