Full Description
This is a true junior role.
We’re hiring a Junior Mechanical Design Draftsperson to work directly under a senior designer. This position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants hands-on mentorship, real-world experience, and room to grow - not just a desk job pushing drawings.
We design and manufacture custom industrial machinery and operate at the forefront of our global niche market. You’ll design equipment and then watch it get built and commissioned in-house.
What You’ll Do
- Create mechanical drawings and assist with machine design
- Work directly with a senior designer and learn day-to-day design practices
- Collaborate with the shop to see your designs built and refined
- Assist with design changes, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
- Learn how mechanical systems integrate with controls, PLCs, and automation
What We’re Looking For
- Junior-level background in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or similar
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in machinery
- Creative, curious, and willing to learn
- Open to learning PLCs and automation (experience not required)
- Comfortable asking questions and taking feedback
Formal education is flexible - we care more about attitude, problem-solving ability, and willingness to grow.
Why This Role Is a Great Start
- Hands-on mentorship from a senior designer
- Design machines from concept to shop floor, not just drawings
- Clear growth path as skills develop
- Equipment you design is used worldwide
- Exposure to mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation
