Xpert Aero Technologies Limited is an AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified aerospace manufacturing company specializing in precision CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assemblies for leading aerospace OEMs. We are expanding our engineering team and are looking for a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to support our engineering and quotation departments.
Position Summary
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting technical data from customer drawings and CAD models to support quotation, planning, and manufacturing processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and CAD models (STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Extract critical manufacturing data including:
- Dimensions and tolerances
- Material specifications
- Surface finish requirements
- GD&T requirements
- Special processes (anodizing, heat treat, coating, etc.)
- Create and maintain internal engineering and quotation data sheets
- Support quotation team by identifying machining complexity and key manufacturing features
- Assist with creation of setup sheets, work instructions, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with production, quality, and project teams
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and aerospace customer requirements
- Maintain organized engineering records and documentation
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelorβs Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Experience:
- 0β2 years experience (entry level candidates welcome)
- Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing or machining environment is an asset
Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining processes is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office
Personal Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Highly organized and motivated
Preferred Qualifications (Asset)
- Experience with aerospace drawings
- Knowledge of machining processes (milling, turning, 5-axis machining)
- ERP system experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
