  • Create 2D drawings and 3D models in compliance with engineering standards.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations (stress, strain, load, thermal analysis, air flow calculations, brazing calculations, etc.).
  • Work with our ‘Bearing’ design team during development, troubleshooting or failure analysis.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.

Automation & Mechatronics

  • Support integration of mechanical systems with automation and control systems.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of automated production equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and reliability.

Materials Science

  • Assist in material selection based on mechanical, thermal, and environmental requirements.
  • Support testing and evaluation of materials (Tungsten Carbide alloys, Silicon Carbide materials, metals, polymers, composites).
  • Analyze material performance, durability, and failure modes.
  • Document findings and contribute to material qualification reports.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Materials or Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Mechatronics Engineering).

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, forming, additive manufacturing).
  • Understanding of materials properties and material selection criteria.
  • Exposure to automation systems, PLCs, or robotics is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
