Full Description

Thompson Construction Group is seeking a full-time Junior Recruiter to support recruitment efforts across our construction operations. Based in Spruce Grove, this role contributes to the execution of recruitment activities for field and project-based positions across multiple divisions, helping ensure a consistent, professional, and efficient hiring process.

The Junior Recruiter works closely with the Manager, Talent Acquisition to assist with candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and recruitment tracking within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing candidates and coordinating hiring activities for civil construction roles
  • Review resumes and conduct phone screenings to assess candidate qualifications and suitability
  • Coordinate interviews, reference checks, and prepare offer documentation
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and recruitment tracking systems
  • Develop and maintain a pool of pre-qualified candidates to support workforce planning and project ramp-ups
  • Attend career fairs, hiring events, and other recruitment initiatives as required
  • Provide timely communication to candidates and the HR team to ensure a professional recruitment experience
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes and administrative efficiency

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in recruitment or HR support; experience coordinating hiring activities or working in a high-volume administrative environment is considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
