Job Description

Orion RepTech is seeking a Junior Sales Engineer with strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and an entrepreneurial drive to identify, grow, and support customer opportunities within the electronic components industry. This role is designed for early‑career professionals who are motivated to learn, take initiative, and help expand Orion’s presence in both existing and developing markets.

You will work closely with senior team members to support technical sales activities, develop new accounts, and ensure customers receive high‑quality technical guidance. Over time, you will take ownership of account development and become a key contributor to Orion’s growth strategy.

This is a fully remote position requiring regular local travel by car , with occasional regional travel.

Territory: Montreal/Quebec

Key Responsibilities Customer & Technical Engagement

  • Assist in understanding technical requirements and helping customers select the right electronic and electro‑mechanical components.
  • Learn to deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations with increasing confidence.
  • Participate in customer meetings, onsite visits, and training sessions to build technical and commercial expertise.

Account Growth & Business Development

  • Actively identify, research, and pursue new accounts within the territory by leveraging market insights, networking, and proactive outreach.
  • Support the development of new business strategies , including identifying emerging applications, underserved segments, and competitive gaps.
  • Qualify leads, assist in pipeline development, and collaborate with senior team members to advance opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and technology developments to uncover potential areas for expansion.
  • Help maintain strong relationships with existing accounts and support the growth of Orion’s share of business within them.

Internal Collaboration & CRM Management

  • Work closely with suppliers and distribution partners to understand product capabilities and align on customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation, including opportunities, samples, quotations, visit notes, and next steps.
  • Prepare follow‑up summaries, track activities, and support forecasting efforts.
  • Develop technical product knowledge across Orion’s synergistic line card.

Qualifications Required

  • Technical college diploma or university degree in engineering, electronics, computer science, or related technical field.
  • Strong technical aptitude and natural curiosity about how electronic components and systems work.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset—proactive, motivated, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative to find and develop new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple small projects.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Preferred (but not required)

  • Internship, co‑op, or early-career experience in electronics, engineering, or technical customer support.
  • Exposure to sales, customer interaction, or supplier engagement in a technical environment.
  • Comfort presenting technical information.
