About Nymi

Biometric authentication for regulated industries.

Full Description

About Nymi

Nymi exists to create a world where people and technology interact in a way that is safe, secure, and simple. Today, we focus on a critical area of authentication that most enterprises have yet to fully solve: enabling deskless workers to authenticate seamlessly in non-office and highly regulated environments.

In industries like pharmaceutical manufacturing, Nymi is an emerging standard for biometric authentication. Here workers navigate gloves, PPE, shared workstations, and strict GxP requirements—conditions where traditional authenticators fail or slow production.

We built the Nymi Band and Connected Worker Platform to fill this critical gap in the enterprise IAM stack. Our secure, wearable authenticator gives regulated workers a persistent, handsfree, passwordless identity that follows them across every system and task.

Today, 14 of the top 15 global pharma manufacturers have implemented Nymi to transform authentication bottlenecks into a digital transformation accelerator that reduces data integrity risk and streamlines access across their operations.

The Role
Nymi is looking for a Jr. Software Engineer - Automation Systems to support our current automation system, which has grown organically over time and is incorporating artificial intelligence into existing testflows, and requires a thoughtful engineering approach to ensure reliability, maintainability and scalability.

If you’re a recent graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — and you’re eager to learn, build, and take ownership — this is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and make a meaningful impact.

Please Note: successful candidates will be required to work from Nymi office in downtown Toronto, Ontario, occasionally.

What You'll be doing

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and infrastructure for
    both software and hardware-based products.
  • Improve the reliability and maintainability of our existing test automation system.
  • Develop automated test suites that replace manual workflows and accelerate
    development cycles.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality and Engineering Teams to understand product
requirements and testing needs. Work with AI- -powered tools to generate, refine, and implement automated
tests, and help integrate AI into our broader automation strategy.
  • Diagnose, debug, and fix issues in the automation environment — including flaky
tests, infrastructure failures, and integration problems.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality by advocating for testability, automation, and
    engineering best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and learn from senior engineers while taking
    ownership of your own projects.
  • Occasionally visit the office for hands-on testing of embedded systems-,
infrastructure setup, or team collaboration sessions.

What You'll be doing

  • A degree—or equivalent experience—in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills, especially in Python (highly preferred). Experience
with C, C# or Rust is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with various aspects of automated testing (unit, integration,
    system-, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Practical experience with software engineering fundamentals: data structures,
algorithms, version control, debugging, and clean code practices.
  • Interest in test automation, quality engineering, and building reliable systems. Desire to master AI- -assisted development and a willingness to learn how to
apply AI tools effectively in engineering workflows.
  • Ability and willingness to dive into unfamiliar codebases, tools, and hardware
    setups.
  • A self-starter- mindset — someone who takes initiative, asks good questions, and
    enjoys solving problems.
  • Experience with hardware, embedded systems, or device-level- testing, a plus.
