Full Description
Brickhouse is seeking an Junior Structural Engineer to join its team. Working in a small office environment, the successful candidate will participate in many new and ongoing projects from inception through completion, including all stages from proposal development to project close out.
Projects:
We handle a wide variety of projects, including car dealerships, commercial spaces, warehouses, lift stations, tenant fit-ups, concrete buildings, golf clubhouses, twenty-story concrete towers, cultural centers, multi-use developments, multi-family residential properties, child care facilities, pickleball centers, column removals, and much more.
What will you do?
· Assist the senior engineers and partners in all aspects of the project. Proposal preparation, design, drafting mark ups, drafting, shop drawing review, project administration, project close out, other day to day office item.
· Carry out structural calculations, simulations, and modeling for construction and renovations.
· Design with materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, and wood.
· Collaborate to create drawings, technical reports, and specifications.
· Review construction for compliance and conduct investigations for renovations.
· Coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors throughout all project phases.
Requirements
· We require 2 to 4 years of experience, preferably in a structural engineering consulting office.
· Demonstrated experience in analysis, concrete design, steel design, masonry design, steel stud design, and wood design.
· Possession of Engineer in Training status in the Province of Alberta.
· Thorough understanding of relevant building codes.
· Project management skills, with a history of delivering projects within established timelines and budgets.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and structural analysis software such as S-frame, Structure Point Suite, Autocad, Revit.
· Good verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with builders, architects, engineers, and clients at all levels.
· Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
· A portfolio showcasing work from previous projects that illustrate the required competencies.

· Competitive base salary: Ranges from $65,000 to $85,000, determined by your experience, qualifications, and education.
