Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Junior Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex industrial and mining projects, contributing to the design and analysis of structural systems that support heavy equipment, processing facilities, and critical infrastructure.
As a Junior Structural Engineer, you will work closely with intermediate and senior engineers while gaining hands-on experience in structural design, site investigations, and multidisciplinary project coordination. Occasional travel to industrial or remote project sites may be required.
This position is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build strong technical foundations in industrial structural engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of timber, steel and concrete structures for industrial plants, mining facilities, and related infrastructure.
- Perform structural calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., NBCC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3, AISC).
- Develop structural models and design documentation using analysis and drafting software.
- Prepare technical reports, design summaries, and construction drawing packages.
- Support field reviews, site inspections, and construction-phase services.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, civil, and process disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving structural issues during design and construction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Registered as an EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or eligible for registration with a provincial engineering association.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience (co-op or internship experience considered an asset).
- Exposure to industrial or mining environments is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar).
- Working knowledge of CAD and modeling tools (e.g., MicroStation, Revit, or similar).
- Understanding of Canadian building codes and structural design standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
