Job description:

We are a distribution warehouse seeking a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper with strong full-cycle accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Bookkeeping

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting schedules
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies

Accounts Receivable (A/R) & Credit Control

  • Manage A/R, invoicing, billing, and payment application
  • Perform collections and monitor aging reports
  • Investigate and dispute chargebacks, deductions, and short payments
  • Reduce overdue accounts and improve cash flow

Accounts Payable (A/P) & Payroll

  • Process accounts payable, vendor invoices, and payments
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and maintain payroll records
  • Prepare and file GST/HST, payroll remittances, and CRA filings

Inventory & Operational Accounting

  • Reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • Audit inbound and outbound shipments
  • Match purchase orders, shipping documents, invoices, and inventory records
  • Investigate discrepancies related to shipping, billing, and inventory

Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)

  • Generate A/R aging and A/P aging reports
  • Monitor cash flow and collections performance
  • Analyze customer accounts, inventory discrepancies, and margins

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting / bookkeeping experience (Canada)
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Advanced QuickBooks Desktop experience at most recent job
  • Strong Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • GST/HST, payroll, and CRA compliance & remittance experience
  • Experience in distribution, warehouse, logistics, or inventory accounting preferred

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
