About Skrypt AI Labs

Toronto-based AI healthcare startup.

Full Description

Company Description

Skrypt AI Labs provides AI-powered patient access solutions for modern clinics, ensuring every patient interaction is efficiently handled without disrupting existing workflows. Acting as an extension of clinic teams, Skrypt manages inbound communication, appointment scheduling, and patient inquiries, allowing staff to focus on in-office care. With seamless integration into daily operations, Skrypt's systems enhance practice efficiency, reduce missed revenue, and elevate patient experiences. Built in Toronto, Skrypt AI Labs serves as a trusted partner for forward-thinking healthcare practices.

Role Description

We're hiring a Software Engineer Intern for a hybrid role based in Toronto. You'll work directly with the founder on a live product used by paying healthcare clinics, shipping features end-to-end across our Client Hub portal and AI receptionist systems. Expect to write code that gets used in production the same week you write it.

This is a builder role for someone who wants ownership over real features, not ticket-shuffling. You'll touch frontend, backend, data layer work, and AI behavior tuning depending on the sprint.

What you'll work on

  • Building features in our Client Hub portal (React, Vite, Tailwind, TypeScript)
  • Backend and API development on Supabase / Postgres
  • Iterating on AI receptionist behavior β€” prompts, evals, edge cases
  • Shipping in days, not months

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development concepts
  • Proficiency in modern web development β€” React, TypeScript, and back-end frameworks
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming and at least one production-grade language
  • Comfortable using AI development tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) as leverage in your workflow
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with AI-driven systems or healthcare technology is a plus
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field at a Canadian post-secondary institution

Logistics

  • 30 hours/week, ~May 12 to August 22 (16 weeks)
  • Hybrid β€” Toronto-based with flexibility to work remotely part of the week
  • Reports directly to the founder
  • Must be enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution

To apply

  • Send (1) your GitHub, (2) a link to one project you're proud of, and (3) 2-3 sentences on why this role over another internship to hasan@skryptlabs.com
