Full Description

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the participant requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Agreement with as outlined:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Note: International students are not eligible participants.

What you'll get to do:

This position will help CCS source and select top talent to fill positions within our organization, including other funded, program-related summer students.

Recruitment:

  • Use of HR technology (HRIS system) to assists in job posting, resume screening, scheduling interviews, candidate communication, and onboarding.
  • Assists in the virtual (use of Zoom or MS Teams) and in-person interviews, and supports as required hiring managers in interviews as part of the hiring panel.
  • In collaboration with the Junior P&C Generalist, ensure proper onboarding for new hires and the necessary paperwork is completed promptly and accurately, including contracts, employment references, and background checks.
  • Supports the new employee orientation sessions.
  • Actively work toward building a diverse and qualified team to support the organization.

General Office:

  • Scanning and uploading employment files into HRIS system.
  • Supporting HRIS system administration.
  • Research and create content for the P&C weekly newsletter (use of MailChimp tech platform)
  • Ensure compliance of agency policies and procedures.
  • General office/administrative support as required.

What you need to know/have:

  • Ideally seeking a candidate enrolled in a Human Resources Management program in post-secondary.
  • Experience in recruitment is an asset.
  • Experience in HRIS systems is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, critical thinking, ability to make sound judgement.
  • Experience using MS Office and/or ability to learn new computer software applications.

Location: This position is to work onsite at 55 Town Centre Court, Scarborough, ON

Hours: 35 per week, occasional weekends and evenings may be required.

Compensation: $17.60 per hour
