POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our team. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of Human Resources, including recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration. The ideal candidate is passionate about HR, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to our organization’s success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruitment Support: Assist in drafting job postings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, background screening and maintaining applicant tracking systems.
  • Onboarding: Help facilitate new employee orientations, ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
  • HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records, assist with payroll preparation, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Employee Engagement: Support initiatives related to employee recognition, wellness programs, and team-building activities.
  • Policy Development: Assist in researching and updating HR policies to align with employment laws, such as the Employment Standards Act (ESA) or Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Training and Development: Help organize training sessions and track employee progress in development programs.
  • HR Projects: Participate in HR projects and initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from a Human Resources Management program.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and standards (ESA, FLSA, OHSA, Human Rights Code) is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Note: This is a 16-week paid internship commencing May 2026
