Job Title: Junior Accountant

Department: Finance & Settlements

Job Type & Duration: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary Range: $50,000.00 –$65,000.00

Location: Toronto, ON (On-Site)

Note: This is an existing position within the organization, as disclosed in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA).

The Junior Accountant will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, tax filings, and accounts receivable activities. This role helps maintain accurate financial records, supports month-end and year-end processes, assists with audits and cash management, and provides financial analysis to support business decision-making.

What You Will Do

  • Preparation of accounts receivable analysis report, monitoring and following up on collections, and processing payment receipts
  • Perform bookkeeping and preparations for monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Record journal entries and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and routine corporate reporting, as well as perform an analysis of specific accounts or transactions, as required.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages (financial statements, actual to budget analysis, balance sheet analysis)
  • Complete corporate tax filings such as HST, payroll taxes, preparation of T4s, etc.
  • Prepare requested schedules and reconciliations, complete foreign exchange translations, perform cut-off procedures, and provide supporting documents while working with the external auditors.
  • Understand business activities and processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement improvements to processes.
  • Assist in and analyze the routine management review of the financial health of the subsidiary.
  • Assist with cash management operations.
  • Provide a clear picture of the company’s financial health to its internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ad hoc reporting/projects from time to time, as requested by management.

What You Will Bring:

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in accounting, business, finance, and/or related discipline.
  • Familiar with accrual accounting and working with multiple currencies.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks Online, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
  • High level of accuracy, ability to meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Possesses key attributes to work with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a collaborative team player.
  • Demonstrates high integrity, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Educational background specializing in accounting.
  • 1-2 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the CPA designation program.
