Overview:

Our client is a highly successful and established national industry leader. The Junior Corporate Accountant serves a critical operational role within the Finance department, managing essential day-to-day transaction processing while directly supporting broader month-end and period-end close cycles. This position demands an analytical team player with strong technical skills, a high level of precision, and a proactive mindset toward driving organizational efficiency.

What you will be doing:

  • Execute and manage the end-to-end accounts payable cycle while strictly adhering to corporate parameters and internal control frameworks.
  • Assist with core full-cycle accounting procedures, including the completion of general ledger reconciliations and monthly journal entries.
  • Act as a dedicated point of contact to resolve vendor and internal stakeholder inquiries with a high standard of customer service.
  • Aggregate and organize divisional operational metrics to assist in drafting quarter-end financial disclosures and working papers.
  • Review, verify, and code multi-departmental invoices with a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • Coordinate and process recurring payment runs, including cheque generation, EFT transfers, tax payments, and manual disbursements.
  • Support the administration of intercompany transactions, covering cost reimbursements, internal loans, and corporate investments.
  • Track and route incoming invoices across various internal departments to maintain a smooth, visible approval workflow.
  • Participate in finance-wide initiatives focused on process optimization, workflow automation, and the elimination of operational waste.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and senior finance management to achieve operational and financial goals.

What you must have:

  • Recognized university degree with a specialized focus in accounting.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Approachable, communicative style with a proven capacity to build collaborative partnerships across all levels of an organization.
  • High ethical standards, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.
  • Prior accounts payable or foundational accounting experience is a strong asset, though not mandatory.
  • Articulate written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong analytical abilities.

Salary/Rate Range: $55k + benefits + vacation + added perks
