Full Description
- We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join Wattpad’s accounting team
- You will be a key contributor in our accounts receivable cycle
- As a member of the accounting team, you will utilize your A+ relationship building skills to partner with our vendors and employees to ensure compliance to our policies & procedures and an overall positive & smooth interaction
- Billing (sales orders & invoicing) administration in accordance with accurate interpretation of customer contracts and effectively communicating with our various lines of business to gather required information
- AR payment application and collections follow-up with customers, including troubleshooting and escalation as needed
- Conduct AR payment variance analysis and perform reconciliations to identify outstanding balances, unapplied cash, short payments, and payment trends
- Ensure proper recognition of revenue and cost of sales according to accounting standards and company policies
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Work cross-functionally with U.S. and Korea HQ consolidation and accounting teams to support group reporting, intercompany processes, and policy alignment
- Depositing cheques to the bank and sorting mail
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including collaboration and communication with external departments
- Assisting with audit requests
- May assist with AP related tasks, such as coding of invoices, expense reports, credit card reports, etc
- Ad hoc tasks as they come up

- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
- Meticulous, keen attention to detail and highly organized
- Experience with bookkeeping and/or in the AR/AP cycle for a small/mid-sized company with multiple currencies and legal entities
- Possess a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Impeccable customer service, relationship building and problem solving skills
- Understanding of deferred revenue and accrued revenue
- Proven track record of successful multi-tasking and ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and possess professional maturity
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets experience
- 1-3 years of relevant experience with accounting/bookkeeping and/or in the AR/AP cycle for a small/mid-sized company with multiple currencies and legal entities
- CPA, or workings towards CPA

- Fluency in Korean
