Junior Business Analyst

Our client is seeking a motivated Junior Business Analyst to join its IT team on a one-year contract, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and team fit. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Business Analyst looking to gain hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle while working on a diverse portfolio of custom-built and vendor-supported applications. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and project teams to gather requirements, support system implementations, participate in testing, and help deliver technology solutions that improve business processes and operational efficiency. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyze, document, and manage business requirements for IT projects and application enhancements.
• Support the full software development lifecycle by participating in project planning, backlog grooming, sprint planning, testing, deployments, and post-implementation support.
• Work closely with developers to translate business needs into effective technical solutions while assisting with system configuration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Develop and execute test plans, validate application functionality, document test results, and support user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality solution delivery.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, process flows, business requirements, user guides, and other supporting materials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to operational reporting, continuous process improvement initiatives, and ongoing support for both custom-developed and third-party business applications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• One to four years of experience in business analysis, IT project delivery, systems analysis, or a related role, with exposure to requirements gathering, testing, and application support.
• Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including Agile methodologies, and experience collaborating with developers on technology solutions.
• Experience using SQL or other data retrieval and manipulation technologies; exposure to application configuration or solution development is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate business or technical issues and recommend practical, effective solutions.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills, with a proactive, collaborative mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $70,000- $90,000 annually depending on experience

Five days on site in downtown Vancouver
