Role Description The Junior Buyer is a full-time, on-site role based in North York, ON. This role supports the buying team in sourcing, selecting, and purchasing fashion merchandise that aligns with brand strategy and target markets. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with market research, tracking trends, analyzing sales and inventory data, and preparing buying reports and presentations. The Junior Buyer will help manage purchase orders, maintain accurate product and pricing information, coordinate with vendors, and monitor delivery timelines. The role also involves collaboration with merchandising, planning, and store operations to ensure the right product assortment and timely flow of goods to stores.

Qualifications

  • Foundational skills in merchandising and buying, including trend awareness, product selection, and basic assortment planning.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to work with sales, margin, and inventory data, and proficiency in spreadsheet and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities, deadlines, and detailed documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams and external vendors in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing product information, purchase orders, and follow-up on shipments.
  • Post-secondary education in business, fashion merchandising, retail management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience or internship in retail, buying, or merchandising is an asset.
  • Interest in fashion and value-driven retail, with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
