At National Zakat Foundation, our mission is to provide the Muslim community with an end-to-end Zakat service, encompassing: Education, Calculation, Collection & Distribution. NZF aims to help fulfill the goal of this vital third pillar of Islam, which is to eliminate poverty and destitution, as well as empower the needy within the Muslim community.

Mississauga, ON (Remote/Hybrid role requiring 1 to 3 days per week in-office) or as needed based on operational requirements.

Role Overview:
The Junior Marketing Coordinator will support NZFโs mission by creating engaging and educational digital content. This role provides hands-on experience in communications, marketing, and storytelling in a nonprofit environment.
The participant will gain exposure to content strategy, social media management, and campaign execution while amplifying community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development and Storytelling
- Research and create digital content for website, social media, and newsletters
- Produce educational campaigns
- Edit written and visual content
- Align messaging with brand tone
- Publish posts and track engagement
Digital Engagement and Social Media
- Manage social media platforms
- Schedule and publish content
- Monitor engagement
- Prepare analytics reports
- Suggest improvements
AI-Ready Content Integration
- Adapt content for AI/chatbot platforms
- Develop FAQs and scripts
- Ensure consistency in messaging
Campaign and Event Communications
- Support campaigns and events
- Create promotional content
- Capture media and testimonials
Evaluation and Collaboration
- Analyze feedback and trends
- Participate in team meetings
- Maintain organized content systems
Requirements
- Post-secondary student or graduate in Communications/Marketing
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Familiarity with social media tools
- Experience with design tools
- Interest in nonprofit work
Eligibility
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- As per section 13.1(a) of the Articles of Agreement, youth hired for a Canada Summer Jobs-funded job cannot displace or replace existing employees or volunteers, employees that have been laid-off and are awaiting recall, employees absent due to an industrial dispute, employees on vacation, or employees on maternity or parental leave.
