Full Description
We are looking for a Junior Social Media Manager to join our team full-time and help manage content across our social media platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who lives online, understands viral internet culture, and has a strong sense of what performs on social media. Your main responsibility will be finding, creating, and preparing highly engaging video, meme-style, and news-based content for daily posting.
About the Role
As a Junior Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing viral content ideas, identifying trending videos and news stories, writing captions, preparing content for posting, cross-posting across platforms, and engaging with our online audience.
You must have a strong understanding of U.S. internet culture, meme culture, viral trends, pop culture, and social media behavior . We are looking for someone who can recognize what people will share, comment on, and react to before it becomes saturated.
This is a full-time position and the candidate must be based in Canada or the United States . The job is Fully remote
Responsibilities
- Find viral videos, meme-worthy content, and news-style posts suitable for social media
- Research trending topics, internet culture moments, celebrity/pop culture news, and viral conversations
- Create and organize daily content ideas for approval
- Write strong captions that match the tone of each post
- Submit content for review and posting
- Cross-post content across all active social media platforms
- Engage with the audience through comments, replies, and community interaction
- Monitor social media trends and identify new content opportunities
- Help maintain a consistent posting schedule
- Track what type of content performs best and adjust ideas accordingly
Requirements
- Must be based in Canada or the United States
- Experience in social media management is required
- Strong knowledge of U.S. internet culture, viral trends, memes, and pop culture
- Ability to identify content with high engagement potential
- Strong caption-writing skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced content environment
- Organized, reliable, and able to submit content consistently
- Must be able to provide a portfolio or examples of previous social media work
- Junior-level candidates are welcome, but real experience managing or contributing to social media pages is required
Compensation
- This position offers a base salary plus potential commission/performance-based bonuses .
