Full Description
VentureOut
Junior Developer
Full-Time, Hybrid Role
About VentureOut:
VentureOut is an integrated, AI and technology driven business valuation and exit-readiness ecosystem designed to help small and mid-sized business owners understand, grow, and ultimately realize the full value of their companies. By bridging the gap between daily operations and long-term exit readiness, we provide a data-backed path for owners to understand, grow, and ultimately capture the full financial potential of their business.
As a fast-moving, technology-driven organization, we value structure, speed, execution momentum, and absolute professional excellence. We are now seeking a Junior Developer to help us build and scale the systems behind our platform as it grows across North America.
This role is foundational. The person who steps into it will help build the systems that VentureOut runs on, learning the platform end to end and growing their scope and technical ownership as the company scales.
About the Role:
The Junior Developer will work under our Senior Technology Lead to build the platformβs user-facing and supporting systems. This is a hands-on, build-first role: you will turn designs, requirements, and patterns set by the technical team into clean, working code, with the guidance and code review you need to do it well.
You will help build our platform through its next major stage of development and then continue to extend and scale it as the business grows. It is an early-career role with a long runway β designed for a developer who wants to sharpen their craft, broaden their range across, and take on increasing independence and ownership as they grow with the company.
You will work as part of a lean, fast-moving technical team that builds with the help of modern AI tooling, taking ownership of your work while learning from more senior engineers.
What Youβll Do:
1. Build the User-Facing Platform
- Build the interfaces and interactive components that business owners and partners use, translating designs and requirements into clean, responsive, working code.
- Develop dynamic, reactive front-end experiences that adapt to user context without disrupting the underlying data.
2. Implement Styling, Reporting & Presentation
- Build the styling and design-token systems that give the platform a consistent, polished look across products.
- Implement the presentation layer for reports and dashboards, including branded and white-label outputs for partners.
3. Support Quality, Testing & Documentation
- Build and run automated test harnesses and test data that confirm the platform works correctly as it changes.
- Write clear, navigable documentation for the features and components you build.
4. Contribute Across the Stack
- Support backend, integration, and infrastructure work as needed, learning the platform end to end and steadily broadening your range under the technical teamβs guidance.
5. Build Efficiently with Modern AI Tooling
- Use AI development tools, such as Claude, to accelerate components, scaffolding, tests, and documentation β learning to review and refine what they produce with guidance from the senior team.
6. Grow With the Platform
- Take on increasing ownership and new areas of the platform as you develop and the company scales across North America.
Who You Are:
You bring:
- 1β3 years of experience building software (including internships, co-ops, or significant project work), with particular strength in front-end and UI development.
- Solid command of a modern front-end framework and of HTML/CSS and responsive design, with growing comfort working across the stack and with APIs.
- Familiarity with version control, testing, and modern development practices.
- Comfort working in an AI-assisted development workflow, and the discipline to review what it produces rather than accept it blindly.
- A strong eagerness to learn quickly, take direction and feedback, and grow your scope and independence over time.
Your working style:
- Youβre organized and detail-oriented, and you take pride in polished, well-built work.
- You thrive in environments with change and evolving priorities, and youβre comfortable asking questions and acting on feedback.
- You think about the people using what you build, not just the task in front of you.
- You collaborate well within a lean, fast-moving team β taking ownership of your work while learning from and staying aligned with more senior engineers.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
In the first 12 months, you will have:
- Delivered user-facing features and supporting systems reliably, with steadily less oversight as you grow.
- Built and maintained the test harnesses, test data, and documentation that keep the platform dependable.
- Broadened your range across the stack and become a dependable contributor to the technical team.
- Demonstrated the reliability and growth to take on increasingly independent work as VentureOut scales.
Compensation:
- This is a full-time professional position.
- Compensation will be aligned with experience, with potential for performance based incentives as VentureOut expands.
How to Apply:
If youβre early in your career, eager to grow, and energized by building real systems on a fast-moving, AI-driven FinTech team, weβd love to hear from you.
