Marketing Assistant (Summer Student)
Term Position: Late May β Early August (9 weeks) β Flexible Dates
Hours of Work: 9:00 β 4:30 Monday β Thursday (30 hours/week)
Location: This is an In-Office position in Abbotsford
Hourly Wage: $20.00/hour
About Us
The Centre for Epilepsy and Seizure Education in BC (ESEBC) is a registered charity based in Abbotsford, serving communities across British Columbia. Now in its 27th year, ESEBC provides person-centred support, education, and advocacy to reduce stigma and improve the lives of people living with epilepsy and seizures.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Marketing Assistant will support the organizationβs public education, outreach, and community engagement efforts by assisting with digital communications, awareness campaigns, event promotion, and administrative marketing tasks.
Duties

Assist with creation and scheduling of social media content to promote epilepsy education, community programs, and public awareness initiatives

Support website updates

Help develop marketing materials such as posters, newsletters, email campaigns, and digital graphics

Support outreach efforts to schools, community organizations, and partner agencies, including underserved and rural communities

Promote community events, workshops, and fundraising initiatives

Track engagement metrics for marketing campaigns and help compile basic reports

Assist with photography, content collection, and inclusive storytelling for awareness campaigns

Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving equitable outreach and engagement

Provide general administrative marketing support as needed
Qualifications
-
Interest in marketing, communications, nonprofit work, health promotion, or community services

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable using social media platforms and basic digital tools

Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva

Outgoing, organized, reliable, and eager to learn
This role contributes directly to increasing public understanding of epilepsy, reducing stigma, and improving equitable access to community resources across British Columbia.
